Food Technology at Salisbury High School provides students with practical, real-world learning experiences that support independence, wellbeing and everyday life skills. Through hands-on activities, students develop an understanding of healthy lifestyles, nutrition, personal health and social interaction, while building the confidence and skills needed to make informed choices and actively participate in their community.
Design Technology (Food)
Students in Years 7-9 participate in Food Technology, where they focus on the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating to make nutritious food choices. They also develop foundational skills in food production. Each class prepares a morning tea for their parent(s)/caregiver(s), allowing families to taste the dishes their child has created. This activity also provides an opportunity for students to practice social skills by explaining their food and drink choices.
