Pathways to Success
Where opportunity meets ambition
Students with an interest in leadership from years 7-12 have many opportunities throughout the year to engage in a variety of programs both onsite and off that are delivered to grow these skills. Some of these opportunities are available to students by invitation and others are open to student application.
Our largest ongoing leadership opportunity for students is our Student Leadership Team (SLT) which brings a representative from each care class together weekly to develop leadership skills, voice their opinions, share concerns and promote positive school spirit. It is a proactive group of student leaders who have a desire to see their leadership skills developed. Applications for this team are open to all students at the start of each year and any interested students are encouraged to apply. In addition, SLT promotes positive change through involvement in school projects and community events and causes. SLT aims to develops the Leadership skills, promotes personal Growth and empowers students to make positive Changes.
Applications for the Student Leadership Team are open to all students at the beginning of each school year. Students who join the team have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, represent their peers, contribute to school initiatives and community projects, and play an active role in promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.

Students also have the opportunity to nominate themselves for House Captain positions within their House Teams. Each House elects two Junior, two Middle and two Senior House Captains. Students wishing to be considered for a House Captain position are required to submit an application outlining their leadership skills and experience and are then voted on by both staff and peers. In addition, two Year 12 students are selected annually as School Captains. School Captains are chosen from the current Senior House Captains and are required to participate in an interview process with school leaders to be considered for the role. House Captains and School Captains play an important role in leading their House teams during weekly SLT meetings, representing the school at events, and participating in leadership development opportunities throughout the year.
In 2026 our School Captains are Kosta Govas and Chelsea Mackenzie.
Other leadership growth and development opportunities (internal leadership forums, public speaking opportunities and outside leadership conferences and events) will take place throughout the year and these are offered to students both in SLT and out. Students from Years 7-12 also have the opportunity to apply for/join other leadership programs like the Youth Empowerment Committee and Future Leaders Program. These opportunities aim to help our student leaders represent their peers, grow their own skills and provide a student perspective at council, state and national levels. These opportunities give our students a platform to express their opinions and ideas, and to be responsible and active citizens who make a significant contribution in their school and community.
