Visual and Creative Arts
Arts education plays a vital role in helping us understand ourselves. It allows us to express and celebrate our identity and heritage within our multicultural school community and the wider world. The skills and attitudes we develop through the arts also support our learning in other areas of the curriculum.
Our visual arts program spans all year levels, offering students the chance to explore a variety of theoretical and practical learning experiences. We provide students with the knowledge of how artworks are conceptualized and constructed, focusing on elements of art and design, as well as colour theory.
We pay particular attention to the diverse abilities of our students, using differentiated presentation and techniques to accommodate their individual needs when creating art. Students are encouraged to develop their unique style and express their personal choices through their work.
By studying different periods of art history, public art, art galleries, and exhibitions, students are introduced to a wide range of techniques and cultural influences.

In addition to visual arts, we offer music classes that focus on the elements of music, orchestral instruments, and world music. Students engage in both theoretical and practical learning experiences.
We also offer drama classes that emphasise performance skills and the key elements of drama.
